Charminar is most historical of HYDERABAD, ANDHRA PRADESH. The Charminar lies near the bank of the RIVER MUSI. It is Close to Laad Bazaar and Makkah Masjid. BECAUSE OF Charminar this landmark became a global icon of HYDERABAD, India. We can say there is equal importance of Charminar as TAJ MAHAL in Agra and EIFFEL TOWER in Paris. Even Charminar is included in top 10 historical places in India. The English name is a translation and combination of the Urdu words “Char”and”Minar”, translation to “Four Towers” the eponymous towers are ornate minarets attached and supported by four grand arches. The fifth ruler of Qutab Shahi dynasty SULTAN MUHAMMAD QULI QUTB SHAH built the Charminar in 1591 century. After shifting His capital from GOLKUNDA to HYDERABAD, India. According to the book “DAYS OF BELOVED”, Qutab shah constructed the Charminar in the year 1589, on the very spot where he first glimpsed his future queen BHAGMATI, and after her conversion to Islam, Qutab Shah renamed the city as “HYDERABAD”. Though the story was denied by the historians and scholars, it became popular folklore among the locals. Charminar is considered in indo-Islam as well as Mughal architecture. We cab say that it is a signature of ancient architecture. Pulverized marble, limestone, mortar and granite are used in structure of Charminar. A replica of the Charminar built in BAHADURABAD locality of Karachi, Pakistan in 2007.
